In California now it’s next to impossible to buy a handgun if you do not already own property.
If you go to a gun show in nearby Reno, NV, you are photographed and, if having bought one, I hear you are followed to your car.
I’ve never owned a gun but know many people that have them. However, I’ve been thinking about getting guns.
I don’t like, though, that if I buy one I’m letting the same government that wants to take them away from me, know that I just bought them. That’s a double edge sword.
My thoughts on guns that I’ve been looking at for the SHTF scenario are:
(Rifles) – Has to have dual purpose – self defense and hunting.
I’ve met a lot of guys that have these big monster guns and have asked them “Okay so when you run out of ammo how are you going to get more for an obscure weapon like that? The military doesn’t use it and Joe Sixpack most likely won’t have it either?”
They look at me with a blank stare like I’m an idiot.
Next I ask them “Okay, so you’ve got your Howitzer. How are you going to transport that monster and all that heavy ammunition too?” Again blank stare.
Then I ask them “Okay, so that ammo is real expensive. If you have to barter for it, the less common it is, isn’t that going to use up what meager barter resources you have to get ammunition?” Another blank stare.
Next question. “Okay, so you blow this guy away. That leaves a messy trail and a body to dispose of. Someone from ZOG is going to track you down. Not so common ammo is going to point right to you. They want you dead already – !!BLAM!! you’re eliminated, game over!” Blank stare.
(Pistols) – You gotta be good and practice a lot! Or else, wasted ammo. Pistols are close encounter weapons. Why would you want to let someone get close enough to you to waste you?
Thoughts – .22 ca. long rifle, Why? .22 ca. – easy to carry, easy to carry lots of ammo, good for some self-defense and a varmint rifle.
Sufficient enough to scare a loser away when pointed at them and a head shot is fatal, matter of fact any shot is ultimately fatal because it may not penetrate the other side and they’ll crawl away and die somewhere else and not on your front porch where ZOG will come and find them. If they’re wounded they won’t tell ZOG why and if they’re dead it doesn’t matter.
More importantly avoid this situation altogether and save your ammo for small varmints which breed rapidly and can serve as food after all of the large game such as deer are eliminated because of mass starvation.
20 ga. shotgun that has a choke and can take slugs – I feel a 12 ga. is way over rated and is a cannon at close range. Can have a hefty kick and is over doing it for close range.
With a slug it’s sufficient for taking down larger game such as deer. Let’s face it, even if you bagged something larger like a moose what are you going to do with all that meat? In a SHTF situation, if you can eat it immediately, you gotta leave it. Refrigeration will be non-existent in a SHTF situation.
Better learn how to preserve stuff, barter and grow some of your own food even if on a city lot.
.22 ca. pistol. More than deadly enough if you can get off a few rounds in to someone at close range. Will penetrate but not continue through the wall in to a neighboring building and you end up with a manslaughter or murder charges for trying to defend yourself whether in a SHTF situation or now.
Plenty good enough for completing a kill on a deer or other game. Low muzzle noise and flash like a firecracker prevents arousing as much attention as other weaponry and sound doesn’t carry very far. Again easy to carry many rounds.

I have a question.
If we buy guns and LOTS of ammo now, we have to send in a FOID card, which means our NAMES and ADDRESSES are on a LIST. At least we do in my state.
Police could come to our homes and confiscate the guns if we don’t turn them in, if a future law were passed saying we all had to do so.

Yeah, just today I was musing on the prospect of martyrdom. The gun grab, just one of the many prospects of fear engendering information; what is it? It is symptomatic of the incremental process to defeat the mind and heart of the misplaced affections.
How easy it would be, if the door were to burst open, and some official beast were to shout “deny Christ now, or die!”
“Shoot you bastard!” would be an easy reply. Yet, as the saints are worn down, over years of anti-christian legislation, political correct doctrine, and the rise of godlessness among mankind, the meaning of “great tribulation” begins to take on a clearer meaning.
Many who boast the name of “Christian” have compromised long ago.
You can’t be the “image of the beast,” and conformed to the image of Christ simultaneously.
Some beg the question, did Christ really say and mean that His would suffer persecution, even to death?

Some objections to Rev. Ted Pike’s attack on the Book of Esther

I have chosen in this part to empty my quiver upon some of the straggling dogs of war that Rev. Pike set loose in his article: THE PSEUDO-BIBLICAL BOOK OF ESTHER — MAINSPRING OF ZIONISM published on the National Prayer Network Website on 5 April 2011.
I quote Rev. Pike:
“For nearly 2,000 years, a minority of Christian scholars have been troubled by the book’s omission of anything truly spiritual. Athanasius, some of the church fathers, and Martin Luther rejected it as apocryphal.”
and
“The Talmud says Esther was written by the “men of the great synagogue,” the proto-Sanhedrin of 120 elders during the beginning of the intertestamental period following the last of the great Hebrew prophets. This is probably close to the truth. It casts great suspicion on the canonicity of the book.”

One of the methods used by Rev. Pike to prod the reader to join in on the pitch-capping of Esther is to enlist the word “canonicity”. He also summons its orphan, the oft dismissive and yet historically protean adjective “apocryphal”.
In order for the reader to be able to parse the sweeping statements above, it would be well for him to learn what is meant by these words, for this is central to grasping what Rev. Pike seeks to slip by him. The following description of “apocryphal” is taken from the Merriam-Webster online dictionary:
The word is originally Greek (ἀπόκρυφα) and means “those having been hidden away”. [from apo- away + kryptein to hide]. Specifically, ἀπόκρυφα is the neuter plural of ἀπόκρυφος, a participle derived from the verb ἀποκρύπτω [infinitive: ἀποκρύπτειν], “to hide something away.”
A brief overview of its evolution down through ecclesiastical history is excepted from a Wikipedia entry (the comments in square brackets and green are mine):
[The first sense:] The word “apocryphal” (ἀπόκρυφος) was first applied, in a positive sense, to writings which were kept secret because they were the vehicles of esoteric knowledge considered too profound or too sacred to be disclosed to anyone other than the initiated… “Apocrypha” was also applied to writings that were hidden not because of their divinity but because of their questionable value to the church…

Rev. Pike employs the word “apocryphal” in its second, pejorative sense, foregoing the courtesy of informing the reader that it has borne a number of meanings over the centuries and that some texts considered “apocryphal” were in fact used interchangeably with canonical texts by other notables of the patristic era, such as Origen, Clement of Alexandria and Tertullian.
Enter Athanasius: deacon and secretary to Bishop Alexander of Alexandria, drew his first blood in 320 AD against Arianus, elder of Alexandria, helped erect the Nicene bulwark of the consubstantiality of the Father and the Son, and was exiled on at least five separate occasions by Constantine’s successors.
A boon companion of desert fathers during his exiles, he bore the epithet Athanasius contra mundum. Protestants look upon him as being the architect of the standard Biblical canon.
In a pastoral letter written to North African bishops at Eastertide AD 367, Athanasius set out the following instructions regarding the books of the Bible of secondary order suitable for instructing the flock in godly virtues:
7. But for greater exactness I add this also, writing of necessity; that there are other books besides these not indeed included in the Canon, but appointed by the Fathers to be read by those who newly join us, and who wish for instruction in the word of godliness.
The Wisdom of Solomon, and the Wisdom of Sirach, and Esther, and Judith, and Tobit, and that which is called the Teaching of the Apostles, and the Shepherd. But the former, my brethren, are included in the Canon, the latter being [merely] read; nor is there in any place a mention of apocryphal writings.
But they are an invention of heretics, who write them when they choose, bestowing upon them their approbation, and assigning to them a date, that so, using them as ancient writings, they may find occasion to lead astray the simple.
Athanasius, who held sometimes more extremely orthodox views on the issue of Biblical canonicity, in fact according to this letter characterized many writings as “apocryphal” in the same sense as that used by Rev. Pike, but declined to condemn the Book of Esther as apocryphal, merely ranking it as a deuterocanonical text , as one would inspirational but non-Biblical stories for devotional reading ( e.g. The Pilgrim’s Progress, Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, or even Athanasius’ Life of Anthony).
A pillar of orthodox theology whose rival was Augustine in his sorties against Manichean thought, Athanasius notwithstanding granted to the authors of books such as the Wisdom of Solomon, the Wisdom of Sirach, Esther, Judith, and Tobit, the respect that they, too, may have been informed by the Holy Spirit.
Athanasius not only shrinks, unlike Rev. Pike, from heaping bitter opprobrium on such deuterocanonical texts, but encourages his readers to have them read in church.
Athanasius never, as Pike asserts, rejected Esther as apocryphal (“false, spurious, bad, or heretical”) but encouraged its use as a devotional text. Pike attempts to make Athanasius dismiss the Book of Esther out of hand, but attentive reading of Athanasius’ letter #39 exposes this as rhetorical abuse.
It is clear then, at least in Athanasius’ mind, a book can be non-canonical while not falling to the level of apocryphal. This prevaricating war-dog (is not truth the first casualty of war?) has been transpierced mortally.

Rev. Pike also evokes the emotion-laden name of Martin Luther in order to complete the inveiglement of the reader.
It must here be noted that Luther objected to several Biblical books, and even urged the rescission from the Bible of James. He believed, perhaps, that, if church doctrine was not immune from attack, the Biblical canon should open to criticism as well.
The reader should consider Luther’s dislike of Esther against this backdrop, deftly omitted by Rev. Pike.
And it should be lost on no-one that Luther included Esther in his own translation of the Bible. Die erledigung noch eines Krieghundes! (Another of Rev. Pike’s war-dogs bites the dust!).
By employing the words “apocryphal” and “canonicity”, Rev. Pike attempts to have two eminent churchmen dismiss Esther summarily, although being non-canonical does not necessarily imply the utter uselessness of the text for Christian instruction, and certainly Athanasius does not relegate Esther to “apocryphal” as Pike asserts.
In Luther’s case, his dyspepsia for Esther must be regarded in the context of his other dislikes, and Luther disapproved of many things violently.
One arrow that cannot be parried:
“In the final analysis, every believer has the right to decide whether a book of the Bible bears witness to divine inspiration. The Christian is not bound to mindlessly follow church councils in any age.
Personally, the Holy Spirit forbids me to recommend Esther.
Some may object, saying, “Shouldn’t we be generous and see the overall high-minded message in Esther?” If an expert is analyzing a possibly counterfeit $100 bill, he does not adopt a “positive” point of view. He gives tenacious attention to the ways the bill under suspicion does not live up to the genuine. Every Christian is obligated to similarly “try the spirits… for many false spirits are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)”

Dear gentle reader: 1 John 4:1 [KJV] reads thusly:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” [underlining mine]
I have thus far uncovered the following gross inaccuracies in Rev.
Pike’s article:
1. Esther being presented as the only Biblical book that incites Jews to war.
2. Deuteronomy 2 being used as proof that God in the OT did not want Moses and the Israelites to attack foreign nations.
3. The pro-active attacks by the Jews on their enemies presented as “The rationale of Esther is that if Jews suspect bias motivation against them that will endanger Jewish lives then it is their God-given right to take preemptive action and kill Gentiles first.”
whereas the text records action taken in self-defense against a clear and present existential threat.

4. The word “prophet” in 1 John 4:1 being replaced by the word “spirit”.
I have yet to find an alternative version of that verse in which “prophet” is rendered “spirit”.

In an attempt to bolster his contention that “every believer has the right to decide whether a book of the Bible bears witness to divine inspiration”, Rev. Pike tries to turn 1 John 4:1 into a scriptural enjoinder to try the spirit of a given text, when it is manifest from the wording that it is aimed at people who pretend to speak truth but do not.
Perhaps he can find no other scriptural foundation for challenging the Godly inspiration of a given text to trump the considered opinions of past conclaves, conferences and synods, so he resorts to the next best thing: twisting the Word of God.
Thus far, I have documented Rev. Pike’s misuse and twisting of Holy Writ to bolster his view that Esther has no Godly merit and is animated by a Talmudic/Zionist spirit inimical to Christian good. This should compel the conclusion that his ideas on the matter cannot withstand scholarly reflection and that he does not approach the problem of Esther either with the proper tools or with good will.
The Book of Esther has been approved as either canonical or deuterocanonical, and therefore not apocryphal, by the following persons and bodies:

These opinions are built on the reception of the Hebrew Canon by the leaders of the early church and of the textual judgments of the leading lights of the Patristic Era such as Clement of Alexandria, Iraneus and Polycarpe.
For there to have been no leading at all of the Holy Spirit in formulating these positions is unthinkable. To which I am compelled to add the following, excerpted from Easton’s Bible Dictionary:
Of the canonicity of the book there is no question. That there was a distinct guardianship of the Canon by the Jewish priesthood has figured less in recent discussions than it should. Josephus shows that there was a Temple copy which was carried among the Temple spoils in the triumph of Vespasian.
The peculiarities of the Hebrew text also prove that all our manuscripts are representatives of one standard copy. In the Jewish Canon Esther had not only a recognized, but also a distinguished, place.
The statement of Junilius in the 6th century A.D. that the canonicity of Esther was doubted by some in his time has no bearing on the question. The high estimation of the book current among the ancient Jews is evident from its titles.
It is usually headed “Megillath Esther” (the volume of Esther), and sometimes “Megillah” (the volume). Maimonides says that the wise men among the Jews affirm that the book was dictated by the Holy Spirit, and adds:
“All the books of the Prophets, and all the Hagiographa shall cease in the days of the Messiah, except the volume of Esther; and, lo, that shall be as stable as the Pentateuch, and as the constitutions of the oral law which shall never cease.”

Historicity of Esther
]And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? Esther 10:2
Rev. Pike implores his readers to consider the possibility that Esther is a Jewish fable. Why then, would its author invite comparison with extra-Biblical primary historical documentation? Esther is in fact the only book in the King James Bible that ends with a suggestion to investigate its claims in a source outside of Holy Scripture! A curious way indeed, to signal the end to a fabulous literary contrivance.
Esther is replete with facts that find an echo in the secular historical record. I cite herewith only a few as examples in order to parry invidious commentary and to encourage the reader to further explore the possibility that Esther is a jewel of historical literature.
Detractors will urge that the book of Chronicles makes no mention of Esther’s exploits. But Chronicles takes leave of us with a decree by Cyrus permitting the Jews to return to their homeland. Little wonder that it falls silent on events occurring some 60 years afterward.
Some direct quotations from Easton’s Online Bible Dictionary are instructive:
“The statement that Esther 2:5, 6 represents Mordecai as having been carried away with Jeconiah from Jerusalem, and as being therefore of an impossible age, is unworthy of notice. The relative “who” (2:6) refers to Kish, his great-grandfather.”
“Recent discoveries have proved the marvelous accuracy of the book. “We find in the Book of Esther,” says Lenormant (Ancient History of the East, II, 113), “a most animated picture of the court of the Persian kings, which enables us, better than anything contained in the classical writers, to penetrate the internal life and the details of the organization of the central government established by Darius.”
We read (Esther 1:5, 6 the King James Version) that “in the court of the garden of the king’s palace,” “were white, green, and blue hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple,” etc. As seen in the ruins of Persepolis, a marked feature in the Persian palace of the period was a large space occupied by pillars which were covered with awnings. It may be noted in passing that these were situated, as the book says, in the court of the palace garden.
But our knowledge of the recovered Persian compels us now to read: “where was an awning of fine white cotton and violet, fastened with cords of fine white linen and purple.”
White and blue (or violet) were the royal Persian colors. In accord with this we are told that Mordecai (Esther 8:15) “went forth from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white.””
Some historians (Bleek, Bertheau, De Wette) have averred that it is inconceivable that Xerxes would, without much ado or forethought, grant to Haman, his Grand Vizier and his followers, the necks of tens of thousands of Jews throughout his satrapies, and that, on the strength of a single request. As westerners we have to hand relatively recent examples of such murderous caprice: during the final days of the reign of Charles IX of France, thousands were slaughtered in Paris on a hot August 23 in 1572.
This barbarity was carried out against Huguenots on the Feast Day of St. Bartholomew and continued for several days. In 1685, Louis XIV had tens of thousands of Protestants exiled after putting to death many more thousands. In our era, millions of Ingush, Ossetians, Georgians, Ukrainians and Volga Germans were rooted out of their homes by Stalin’s NKVD and packed out to the wastes of Central Asia to perish. Now Herodotus, who minutely examined the Greco-Persian Wars, gives us a close-up of Xerxes’ character and wrathful capabilities.
His fellow historian Seneca concurs:
“A despot who, after his army had been hospitably entertained on its march to Greece, and an enormous sum offered towards defraying the expenses of the war, by Pythius the rich Lydian, could be betrayed into such fury by the request of the latter, that of his five sons who were in the army the eldest might be released, to be the comfort of his declining years, as to command this son to be hewn into two pieces, and to make his army pass between them (Herod. vii. c. 37-39; Seneca, de ira, vii. 17); a tyrant who could behead the builders of the bridge over the Hellespont, because a storm had destroyed the bridge, and command the sea to be scourged, and to be chained by sinking a few fetters (Herod. vii. 35); a debauchee who, after his return from Greece, sought to drive away his vexation at the shameful defeat he had undergone, by reveling in sensual pleasures (Herod. ix. 108f.)”
One cannot therefore reasonably prevent Ahasuerus in Esther 3: 8-15 from bearing the stamp of a historical, flesh-and-blood tyrant.
The Kriegshund of the “Jewish Fable” is bleeding from fatal wounds.
The concordance of the Book of Esther with other biblical passages in which either God and/or His followers are silent.

I wish to conclude this Part II by responding to Rev. Pike’s conclusion of his article against Esther.
Rev. Pike:
“In conclusion, do Christians have the right to include a book in the Bible which does not mention God’s name, offers no prayer or thanks, and exalts Jewish heroes and the Jewish people while demonizing Gentiles? Esther does not emphasize that we are saved by abiding in God through faith. Instead, it says Jews are saved by being suspicious of the motives of others, even killing them en masse.”
There are other crucial episodes in the Bible in which silence, more particularly the absence of speech by the Lord or prayers of His subjects, takes pride of place:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
But there was no answer, no echo of thanks, no antiphonal response of joy, no squeal of delight from the newborn at the sight of his parents.
There was only God and His Spirit, bee-like in its industry. This lack of recognition or praise from an incipient world in no wise shook God’s resolve to continue His process of creation, neither did it thwart His plans.
He would have to wait until He was able to instigate the first discourse with man in Genesis 2:9+10 and for which the antiphon had the timbre of shame.
In Genesis 6,
God talks much with Noah in order to instruct him in the most efficacious means of constructing a sea-worthy vessel in a part of the world where it had never rained before.
Beginning at verse 14 of Chapter 6 down to verse 4 of Chapter 7, God lavishes direction on Noah so as to ensure the success of the odyssey. And? Until verse 11 of Chapter
7, Noah has no communication with or from God. There, in the billows of God’s wrath, not a voice is heard from God nor a supplication escapes the lips of Noah and his family.
And to bring to a close what must have been one of the most harrowing periods of silence in history, God’s still small voice of tender remembrance: “And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth [was] an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.”
Silence played a role in the creation of the world and reigned supreme while she was being inundated under the edict of divine indignation.
And these words from 1Kings 19:11+12: And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
And in Mark 15:34, our Saviour cried to His Father whilst on the cross and received no reply but an ink black sky and strong wind.
In Revelation 8:1, we are told that at the opening of the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven by the space of half an hour.

If the statue of which Nebuchadnezzar dreamt in Daniel 2 is interpreted correctly, it surely means at the bottom of it all that the Most High has His way with the most ungodly and unpraying of kings, satraps, tyrants, emperors, popes, anti-popes as well as with supranational government bodies such as the WCO, the WHO, NATO, the CFR and UNESCO.
We get a hint of what Babylon expected of the captive children of Judah in Daniel 1:7. Their names were changed to Babylonian ones by a gaoler.
Little wonder that their habits of devotion, prayer, fasting and supplication to Yahweh were severely curtailed if not extinguished over the years of their Babylonian exile and these exigencies sharpened after Babylon passed to Medo-Persian control in 539 BC.
It would follow that the Jews resident in Babylon and Susa had become accustomed to not praying, at least not openly, to Yahweh, for many years, and this suppression of religious activity on their part, even in the face of a calamity, became a feature of the Book of Esther.
And, at length, they were faced with extirpation at the behest of the Grand Vizier Haman after having done no wrong.
Should then the vaporings of textual analysts prevent the Lord of Daniel 2 from crafting a historical novella in which He intervenes to save a people that were still His, but had lost the custom of prayer in captivity and exile?

Problems with Obama’s “Birth Certificate”

In less than a day, problems have turned up with Obama’s alleged birth certificate. The first and most troubling is the fact that the document is layered when imported to Adobe Illustrator.
A document from 1961 should not be layered. It should simply be a scan of an old document. The only reason to have layers would be if someone were manipulating the information or creating a forgery.
If Obama were born in the Kapiolani hospital as claimed, then why weren’t they boasting that “an American president was born here”? Given all the excitement surrounding Obama’s inauguration, you’d think a hospital would be happy to share in the limelight.
So far not one nurse or intern has come forward to say that they remember Obama being born there. A 25 year old nurse would be 75 today so it’s not that far-fetched that some hospital workers from that time would still be alive and would remember a highly unusual half-Black baby born in 1961.
Additional mistakes on the long form birth certificate include two things copied over from the earlier COLB. The race of the father is given as “African”. In 1961, the proper designation would have been Negro or Negroid. Also, the name should read “Barack Hussein Obama Junior” because the baby Barack has the same name as the father, but someone wrote “Barack Hussein Obama II” instead.
It’s pretty obvious that Obama and his team of young liberals wanted to clean up the language on the birth document to make it more politically correct and to suit Obama’s arrogance, which would never allow himself to be called “Junior”. By inserting these changes, they also betray the fact that this is a modern day forgery.
It should be noted that Obama failed to produce a birth certificate until AFTER a flaming liberal Democrat, Neil Abercrombie was elected governor of Hawaii only a few months ago. Abercrombie insisted that he was a good friend of the Obama family. He also vowed to release Obama’s birth certificate to the public, but quickly shut up after taking office.
One news article notes “During an interview on the KQRS morning radio show on January 20, Mike Evans, a long-time friend of Hawaii governor Neil Abercrombie, shared a conversation he had with the governor the day prior… Evans, Honolulu born and now a Hollywood-based celebrity journalist, claimed that Abercrombie had promised him that he when he became governor, he planned to find absolute proof that Obama was born in Hawaii.
When Evans spoke to Abercrombie on January 19, Abercrombie reportedly told him that he searched the relevant Hawaii hospitals using his powers as governor, and concluded, according to Evans, ‘There is no Barack Obama birth certificate in Hawaii, absolutely no proof at all that Obama was born in Hawaii.’
After Abercrombie made such a fuss about finding the birth certificate, Evans concluded of his friend that he has ‘got some egg in the face.’ ”
How do you go from not having any birth records to having a long form birth certificate? Well, you forge a document and use your Democrat hack friends inside the Hawaii state records department to alter the records so that you create a paper trail.

That was an interesting series on Esther. My take on the subject is a little bit simpler. Jesus spoke highly of the Scriptures and quoted from them. The Scriptures of His day contained the Book of Esther, so I figure if the Book of Esther was good enough for Jesus, then it is certainly good enough for me.
Also, the claim that the Book of Esther does not mention God is not entirely true. Mention of God is missing from the Hebrew Masoretic text (from which most English Bibles are translated), but the earliest available Masoretic text is from about 1000 A.D., long after the crucifixion of Jesus and after the text had been in the hands of Christ-rejecting Jews. It is not the only error in the Masoretic text either.
The Greek Septuagint, translated from an earlier Hebrew text in about 200 b.c. does mention God several times, which is just one indication that the Hebrew Masoretic text has been altered. In spite of this, however, the stories are substantially the same.
What Ted Pike should object to is not the Book of Esther itself, but rather the interpretation put upon it by the Jews that they are authorized to and should celebrate the killing of Gentiles.
The Bible talks about a lot of things that happened without authorizing them. For example, Abraham did in fact lie that Sarah was not his wife, but that doesn’t mean that God approves of lying.
The story of Esther makes a wonderful metaphor for God’s dealings if you take Ahasuerus the King as representing God. His wife, Vashti would represent physical Israel which did not obey God and was cast aside.
Esther would represent the Church, who are today the people of God, as the Jews were then. Haman would represent Satan and the battle would be the spiritual battle we have today with weapons that are not carnal. If you read the book with this filter, it is amazing the insights you can discover.

Well, it sure didn’t take long for the Tucson Truce to collapse.
After Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot on Jan. 8 by a berserker who killed six others, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, and wounded 13, the media were aflame with charges the right had created the climate of hate in which such an atrocity was inevitable.
The Washington Post story on the massacre began, “The mass shooting … raised serious concerns that the nation’s political discourse had taken a dangerous turn.”
Following Barack Obama’s eloquent eulogy and call for all of us to lower our voices, it was agreed across the ideological divide that it was time to cool the rhetoric.
This week, however, hate speech was back in style.
After Donald Trump called on Obama to release his original birth certificate and produce the academic records and test scores that put him on a bullet train from being a “terrible student” at Occidental College to Columbia, Harvard Law and Harvard Law Review editor, charges of “racism” have saturated the airwaves.
To Tavis Smiley of PBS, this was a sure sign the most “racist” campaign in history is upon us. To Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg of “The View,” this was pure racism. To Bob Schieffer, CBS anchor, an “ugly strain of racism” is behind the effort to get Obama’s records.
Again and again on cable TV, the question is raised, “What, other than racism, can explain Trump’s call for these records?”
Well, how about a skeptical attitude toward political myths? How about a legitimate Republican opposition research effort to see just how much substance there is behind the story of the young African-American genius who awed with his brilliance everyone who came into contact with him?
Trump is testing the waters for a Republican campaign. One way to do that is to attract the party’s true believers by demonstrating that, if you get nominated, unlike John McCain in 2008, you will peel the hide off Barack Obama. Is there anything wrong with that?
As for the birth certificate, it was The Donald who forced Obama to make it public. Not in two years had anyone else been able to do it. The White House press corps did not even try. The pit bulls of Richard Nixon’s time have been largely replaced by purse dogs.
Not since Jack Kennedy has a president had a press corps so protective of the man they cover — though in Kennedy’s case, they covered up a lifestyle that could have ended JFK’s presidency.
Trump is drawing crowds because he speaks in plain language and appears unintimidated by the high priests of political correctness.
As Rush Limbaugh notes, it was Trump’s demands for the birth certificate that turned the issue from a winner for Obama — it had been seen as a young president bedeviled by conspiracy theorists and bitter-enders — into an issue that had begun to cut.
When half of all Iowa Republicans, not a radical group, said they thought Obama was born somewhere else, and a fourth were not sure, the president, who had swept Iowa, was beginning to bleed.
The Donald had gotten under his armor.
As Newsweek’s Howard Fineman notes, it was the rising doubts of independents about why Obama still refused to release his original birth certificate that caused him to end two years of stonewalling.
If the president has been hurt, is it not partly his own fault for not releasing the birth certificate and ending the matter after he was elected?
And the demand for Obama’s test scores — is that racism?
Well, was it racist of the New Yorker to reveal in 1999 that George W. Bush got a score of 1206 on his Scholastic Aptitude Test (566 verbal, 640 math) or that Al Gore got a 1355? Was it racist of the Boston Globe to report that John Kerry was a D student as a freshman, who eventually rose up to a C and B student at Yale?
Was it racist of The New York Times’ Charlie Savage to report that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor had described herself as an “‘affirmative action baby’ whose lower test scores were overlooked by the admissions committees at Princeton University and Yale Law School because, she said, she is Hispanic”?
If a White House correspondent stood up at a press conference and said: “Mr. President, Donald Trump is asking for your college and law school test scores. Do you believe you benefited from affirmative action in your academic career?” would that be racist?
Perhaps Obama might begin his answer as he did, two decades before, in a Nov. 16, 1990, letter as president of Harvard Law Review:
“As someone who has undoubtedly benefited from affirmative action programs during my career, and as someone who may have benefited from the Law Review’s affirmative action program when I was selected to join the Review last year, I have not personally felt stigmatized.

Let’s take a look at infringement in the concern of a copyright. Let’s use Mickey Mouse (R) for example. The Jewish Monsanto Family of Louisiana included Benjamin, Isaac, Manuel, Eleanora, Gracia and Jacob. They made frequent purchases of Blacks including twelve in 1785, thirteen and then thirty-one in 1787, and eighty in 1768.
In 1794, Benjamin sold “Babet,” a Black woman, to Franco Cardel. Manuel sold two Blacks from Guinea named “Polidor” and “Lucy” to James Saunders for $850 in silver.
As individuals they were owners of Africans whom they named “Quetelle,” “Valentin,” “Baptiste,” “Prince,” “Princess,” “Ceasar,” “Dolly,” “Jen,” “Fanchonet,” “Rozetta,” “Mamy,” “Sofia,” and many others. Isaac repeatedly mortgaged four of these when in financial trouble.
Benjamin Monsanto of Natchez, Mississippi entered into at least 6 contracts for the sale of his slaves which would take place after his death. Gracia bequeathed nine Africans to her relatives in her 1790 will, and Eleanora also held Blacks as slaves.

Only weak people insult others when they argue, there really is no need for it. I agree that “reparations” is a crock of sh*t and personally feel that I owe no man anything beyond what we have agreed upon and given our word.

But what I have found in my own experiences is that my faith in God is strong enough that all I have to do is pray that God will intervene on my behalf and He ALWAYS has. Sure I have had to tolerate alot of things I dislike but NEVER has a person wronged me and not been given a healthy dose of karma within a short time of their actions.
The mature Christian view is that ALL must come to God and we must never tire in our good works to accomplish this. If even only one wicked person can open their eyes and see the light, repent and seek amends, then all the work was worth it.
You see, it’s not about what I or you want, that is vanity. It is about the One that we love and have sworn fidelity to that matters. Well, He wants to see us all turn to Him and because I love Him and have sworn to be faithful I will do what pleases Him.
Imagine what He has to suffer so that we all can have the opportunity to grow and learn, it makes our own sufferings miniscule regardless of circumstance.
When we allow those who have wronged us to generate negative feelings within us, we are allowing them to continue to have control over us. This is the wisdom of forgiveness and love, it frees us from the iniquity of others.
Trust me, leave vengeance to the One who can execute it most fairly and surely. I pray that my words will not be lost on your heart and you will see that it is only my desire as a brother in Christ to see you grow that drives me to comment on your behalf.
