Actually, its been for only 100 years. While not required to be a speech, every president SINCE Woodrow Wilson, leader of the Progressive Movement, has made the State of the Union report as a speech delivered before a joint session of Congress.
Before that time, most presidents simply delivered the State of the Union as a written report.
It has now become the presidential monologue between the president and the American people, since the advent of the radio, then television.
George Washington gave the first State of the Union address on January 8, 1790 in New York City, then the provisional U.S. capital.
In 1801, Thomas Jefferson discontinued the practice of delivering the address in person, regarding it as too monarchical (similar to the Speech from the Throne).
Instead, the address was written and then sent to Congress to be read by a clerk until 1913 when Woodrow Wilson re-established the practice despite some initial controversy.
I guess Wilson, former President of Princeton, had to do something special and “presidential” having his PhD in Political Science.
So, let’s review Barky’s mischievious “progressive” legacy from Wilson.

“It’s time to face the music America, Obama is now presiding over a failed state.
In his State of the Union speech last night, Obama says he wants to lead America into an economic recovery. Fact is, there’s no economy left in America to recover.
Obama thinks that a “non-security discretionary spending freeze” will solve America’s problems. But he’s simply putting a band-aid on a corpse.
More spending on “security” items like TSA’s porno-scanners, landing big commissions for Talmudic Jew, Michael Chertoff, former head of Homeland Security, is in the works.
More “security” spending like killing innocent civilians in Afghanistan so that armament moguls can live it up while our sons and daughters are brought home in body bags, is coming our way.
And the “non-security discretionary spending freeze,” a new budget item thought up by the Jewish think tank, Center for American Progress – read: Center for American Regress, will cut programs like Social Security, shafting baby-boomers and the elderly.
But the real sham of it all is that Obama says that he will veto all bills that favor “special interests.”
Does that mean no more 3 billion-a-year for Israel? The Jewish Lobby will crucify Obama for that.
Obama wouldn’t dare cross the Jews at AIPAC and their co-religionists at the media. All they need to do is simply put up his Kenyan Birth Certificate on “60 Minutes” –tick, tick, tick- and it’s Bye Bye Barky!

I’m no theologian, but it seems to me intuitively that Christian Zionists exist at two major levels.
The broadest and most basic is the “useful idiots” who are just aping what they’ve heard others say, which itself is Scofieldian propaganda.
The second level is what I believe to be the volitionally evil, such as John Hagee and some of the more clever or higher IQ dispensationalists. I believe what they are signaling to supremacist Jewry with their Christian Zionism is:

Thank you so much for posting the url of ‘thezog’ site! Outstanding! I’ve been waiting for someone to do that for years. It provides us with absolute proof that the Judeofascist agenda is indeed quite real and that our country is utterly controlled by Jews.
I am quite certain that if one had the same information for the legislative systems of each state, we’d find that a similar disproportionate number of Jews are running state governments as well.
When we can publish that information so that it’s “get in your face facts” for the average voter, maybe people will start waking up to the reality of whose really behind “the New World Order” agenda.
Since statistics have been established that roughly 60% of all campaign donations come from only 2% of the population; either individual Jews or Jew-based organizations, it’s become pretty obvious that they are using their wealth to elect more and more Jews (and their Jewish shills) to office.
The payback (and of course, there is always a payback) is evidently that the person elected must appoint Jews to the non-elected positions.
When you sit back and think about it, what they are doing is really not that complicated. It’s actually a very straightforward process. The process does, however, become a bit more hazy since the Jew-owned Federal Reserve owns the printing presses printing all their Mammon-money.
Since the Fed has never been audited, I do have to wonder if they are not simply printing up the necessary money to control the campaign process and funneling it out to their Jew shills.

I have not read all of E. Michael Jones book, The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit, but I am working on obtaining a copy and reading it all. I think Dr. Jones gives us a very helpful framework in which to understand the actions of the Jews throughout history.

No, it is not ALL of the Jews, but when we use the term “the Jews” we generally are referring to the Christ rejecting network of Jews who are “playing ball” with the insider moneyed elite Jews, so they are thrown a few crumbs by their leaders.
Perhaps we should not use the term “the Jews” so generally. I was just reading something about this very thing yesterday. I can’t remember which site I was at, but if I remember correctly the ethnic or racial term applied in Old Testament contexts was simply ‘Israelite’ or ‘Hebrew.’
The original term ‘Jew’ was derived from ‘Judah’ but as the Hebrew language had no ‘Js’, the designation ‘Judah’ was originally ‘Iuda’. The word ‘Jew’ was not actually spoken or written as such until around 1400 AD.
In antiquity, all Israelites were Hebrews, but not all Hebrews were Jews or ‘Iudas.’ I think you are right that the term ‘Jew’ as it was used in John’s gospel, meant those Hebrews who refused to accept Christ as their messiah.
The term ‘Jew’ seems very confusing even today. In some cases it applies to the race of people descendant from Abraham and in other cases ‘Jew’ is specific to a religious orientation. To further confuse the issue roughly 80% of those belonging to Judaism as a religion don’t appear to have a drop of Abrahamic blood in their bodies.
They are Ashkenazi-Khazars descendant from a mixed race comprised of the people from Southern Russia and the Mongolian race. They converted to Judaism in mass for political reasons.

A personal story.
I was just driving down the road, and I saw an approaching car flashing its lights at me.
So I slowed down to 5 miles below the speed limit and fastened my seat belt and told my wife to fasten her seat belt.
A little later I passed a hidden police car. It was behind me shortly after that with flashing lights on, so I pulled over.
I rolled my window down and put both my hands on the wheel like a good slave.
The police man, dressed in para-military gear, told me from a distance to get out of the vehicle. I started to like this, because I am very tall, and he was very short.
But to make a long story short; nothing big happened, except the normal intimidations and questioning of my whereabouts in this police state.
For a Dutchman this is a big joke, so afterwards I opened up a beer and drank it on the way home. A huge crime here, but not where I come from.
In the Netherlands — which the President can attack without approval from Congress, which I am a citizen of, and so deprives me of the right of habeas corpus in this ridiculous country — this is not a crime, because they have an alcohol LIMIT for the driver, which you can not exceed by drinking one beer.
So, when I got home, I called my dad, and he said: don’t get all excited, you are in America and Americans like that kind of control. I know they do, believe you me!

Common sense dictates that the alcohol blood level determines a person’s ability to operate a vehicle.
Since I can still operate a vehicle after drinking a beer, and I am not over the ridiculous limit of .08, I am still legal to drive, except I am not allowed to use my own common sense under the law; to OPEN a beer is already a crime.

While I entirely appreciate your sentiments, defaulting on our national debt to the scum-sucking, money-grubbing, Mammon worshipping Judeofascist banksters may not actually be the best course of action.
When third world nations have done that, the damn UN supported International Monetary Fund (IMF) immediately moves in and applies “stringency measures” that are aimed at nearly starving that nation out, and they virtually makes no bones about it, the people of that nation will be pretty much treated on the same footing as slaves.
The IMF procedures are realistically described in an outstanding book on the corrupt banking system, called “Web of Debt” by Ellen Hodgson Brown, J.D. I highly recommend this book to anyone. It’s excellent.
I think a much safer approach would be to “nationalize” the Fed, and kick everybody who is even remotely connected to the present banking system out the door on their butts. We, the people, should appoint our own bankers who are selected from among this nation’s top economists. And there are many great economists out there who are SCREAMING “Get Rid of the Fed!” Bless them one and all.

Furthermore, most of that gold and silver is held by the very same wealthy elitists that we’ve all learned to despise with a passion. So why adopt a money system that’s going to inevitably put them in power again?
To add to the list of things that makes gold and silver a poor choice in today’s world is the fact that China has been buying up all the gold they can get their hands on, and they are even radically engaged in the purchase of many gold mining companies in Africa. (I belonged to a gold and silver forum for many years, and these things are talked about all the time.)
I think we should nationalize the Fed, take over the damn printing presses, and print our own interest-free money just like good old Abe Lincoln did when he thumbed his nose at the international bankers and printed his own greenbacks. And we should use our own INTEREST FREE MONEY to pay off our national debt. Legal tender is legal tender.

I should add that gold and silver (particularly silver) are great investments and hedges against inflation.
It’s just not a good choice for a money system. It only worked when there was enough gold and silver to cover the population’s needs.
Today’s world has a great many more people.

He also does not think gold and silver backed money is the answer. He recommends like the old “greenbacks” and that there be strictly a state bank in each state.
North Dakota is the only state that has this now and they are the only state that is not in the red.
Not only do we need to end the Fed, I think we also need to ditch capitalism for something called “distributism.”
