With the Biden administration transitioning all of their official documents to explicitly include VP Kamala Harris, stubborn facts that got in the way of the preferred media narrative are a step closer to being ‘corrected.’
Traditionally, the US governments are referred to by the name of the current president – the Trump administration, the Obama administration, etc. In a break from that tradition, the current occupants of the White House have chosen to use “Biden-Harris administration” on all their official documents, websites, social media accounts and the like.
What’s particularly interesting, however, is that the woker-than-thou crew chose not to make political hay out of this. There was no “we’re elevating our First Ever Woman of Color vice president in the name of equity and equality” pomp one would normally expect. Instead it was done on the down-low, with the mainstream media not noticing for almost a week – and acting supremely incurious about it even then.
Nothing to see here, it’s perfectly normal to have vice presidents on equal footing with the POTUS and doing stuff like making calls to international leaders. Except it really isn’t. The post has long been regarded as vestigial and played for laughs.
How many people know who was Woodrow Wilson’s VP? The only reason anyone remembers Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson or Gerald Ford is that they stepped up when their presidents died or resigned.
Then again, nothing about the 2020 campaign or election has been what one would call normal. For one thing, VPs normally try to ride their predecessors’ coattails right away, but 2016 became all about how it was Hillary Clinton’s turn, and the “Obama-Biden” narrative didn’t appear until sometime in 2019. For another, the initial media favorite among the mainstream media outlets was not Biden, but… Kamala Harris.
There was a time she was considered a “front runner” and “top-tier candidate,” fawned over by the political press. Then came the fateful July 2019 presidential debate and a wrecking ball named Tulsi Gabbard. Though the Democrats went after Gabbard with a vengeance, Harris never recovered. She dropped out in December, saying that the campaign funds had dried up and blaming Democrat voters for being racist, sexist misogynists, or something.
In a final bit of irony, Gabbard went on to receive two pledge delegates in the Democrat primaries – while Harris got zero. Meanwhile, Biden went from an abysmal showing in early states to every other candidate lining up behind him with frightful speed by April.
He picked Harris as his running mate – literally on the grounds of her gender and skin color – in August. Interestingly, Politico had that scoop ten days prior. In any event, the media had an excuse to lavish attention on Harris again – and they did, creepily obsessing over her footwear as she toured fire-stricken California for photo-ops.
Later that month, in a virtual campaign event, she referred to “a Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States.” Again, the media shrugged it off as a lapse. They did so again when Biden spoke of “president-elect” Harris in December, and again on March 18, when he called her “President Harris.”
These Freudian slips add up. Once is coincidence, twice is happenstance, but three times?
Fast-forward to present day, as Biden – the oldest man in US history to take the presidential oath of office – struggles to string together coherent sentences at a press conference that he avoided for more than two months, slips repeatedly on the steps of Air Force One, and thinks “Jim Crow” has something to do with birds.
His appointment of Harris to sort out the mess on the southern US border may seem like a disservice at first; after all, it’s an intractable problem because it was directly caused by his U-turn on immigration, about which he remains unapologetic. On the other hand, he made sure to tell reporters it was the task Obama had given him back in the day, as if to imply it was part of grooming him for the top job.
That’s not even going into how much the Democrats and their media allies would prefer a “woman of color” (Harris is part-Jamaican, part-Indian) over an “old white male” in general, leading to such cringe hashtags as #SettleForBiden during the campaign.
When you add all of that up, the real question is not why the “Biden-Harris administration” verbiage is already in place, but how soon it will be replaced by Harris alone.

‘Barely cogent’ Joe Biden starring in ‘Weekend at Bidens’: Bernardi

The US political administration is starting to become the “Weekend at Bidens”, starring the “barely cogent” Joe Biden, according to Sky News host Cory Bernardi.
“You may recall that film (Weekend at Bernie’s) involved a couple of losers pretending their dead boss was actually still alive so they could enjoy his beach house and his extravagant lifestyle for a weekend,” Mr Bernardi said.

Biden’s $2T spending plan, billed as infrastructure bill, spends less than half on infrastructure

President Biden’s $2 trillion spending plan, which is being promoted largely as a bill to address infrastructure, directs well under half of its total money to things traditionally defined as infrastructure, according to a Fox News analysis.
The analysis, based on the 25-page summary of the president’s proposal for the “American Jobs Plan,” indicates less than $750 billion of the spending fits even a broad definition of infrastructure.
The White House is casting a very wide net about what constitutes infrastructure — for example, the American Jobs Plan references “care infrastructure” when talking about $25 billion to upgrade child care facilities and a $400 billion expenditure on care for the elderly and disabled. That’s quite different from repairing potholes and rebuilding bridges.
Senate Republicans, meanwhile, in emphasizing that Biden’s plan largely does not address infrastructure, are often using a very restrictive definition of the word.
“This plan is not about rebuilding America’s backbone. Less than 6 percent of this massive proposal goes to roads and bridges,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said. “It would spend more money just on electric cars than on America’s roads, bridges, ports, airports and waterways combined.”
Indeed, the White House summary of the American Jobs Plan says it will spend “$115 billion to modernize the bridges, highways, roads and main streets that are in most critical need of repair” out of more than $2 trillion in the plan. That is slightly under 6 percent.
But what counts and does not count as infrastructure can be tricky to define, according to Cato Institute Director of Tax Policy Studies Chris Edwards.
“The first thing to know is there is no hard definition of infrastructure. Economists have no hard definition of infrastructure,” Edwards said in an interview with Fox News.
Fox News’ analysis of the Biden plan, as outlined in its 25-page fact sheet, broadly counted investments going toward physical repair or building of facilities and systems used by the general public that help the economy.
This includes, for example, replacing lead pipes, expanding broadband access and modernizing public schools, in addition to money going to things traditionally associated with the word infrastructure like roads, bridges and ports.
Other items that counted to reach a total of just under $750 billion included $50 billion to preserve infrastructure resilience, $80 billion for Amtrak and $20 billion for road safety.
Elements of the Biden plan Fox News excluded from this analysis included $174 billion being spent on electric vehicles; $400 billion on home-based care for the elderly and disabled; $25 billion on child care facilities; and $50 billion on “research infrastructure” at the National Science Foundation.
Fox News also excluded $213 billion in Biden’s plan that’s directed at home sustainability and public housing; at least $35 billion aimed at R&D related to climate change; $50 billion to create a new office at the Department of Commerce to “dedicated to monitoring domestic industrial capacity and funding investments to support production of critical goods;” $30 billion to prepare for future pandemics; $45 billion for the federal government to buy clean energy goods; $14 billion “to bring together industry, academia and government to advance technologies and capabilities critical to future competitiveness;” and several other provisions.
One part of Biden’s plan that does not cost any money is the PRO Act, which would essentially override right-to-work laws in states across the country, allowing unions to extract dues from workers who do not want to be members.
Biden’s American Jobs Plan, at this point, is simply a 25-page document of suggestions. Legislators have not even begun drafting it. That means dollar totals and specific allocations could change.
But Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., in a comment Wednesday himself noted that the Biden plan includes much more than infrastructure.
“Addressing infrastructure, climate and environmental justice together and creating millions of good paying jobs, is just the right combination to meet head on the challenges that America now faces,” Schumer said. “This will not only make clean energy and clean transportation affordable, it will create millions of new jobs with good wages, which always occurs when we invest in infrastructure and manufacturing as we will be doing here.”
Cato’s Edwards, meanwhile, says his biggest gripe with the Biden plan is that the money being spent, no matter how it is defined, is largely going into the pockets of big corporations.
“It’s hugely ironic because the leading Democrats have bashed corporate welfare and corporate subsidies for years and they always claim that Republicans do corporate subsidies,” Edwards told Fox News. “But in fact, Biden would subsidize corporations hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars with this plan.”
“Manufacturing, $300 billion. Electric vehicles, $170 billion. Broadband, $100 billion. Electric power grid, $100 billion. This is completely unneeded and it’s also very dangerous because we don’t want the federal government manipulating what broadband companies do, what electric power companies do,” Edwards said.
He added: “One of the interesting political things in coming weeks and months will be will the Democrat left, like Sanders and Warren, kind of come to the realization that, ‘Hey, this is massive corporate subsidies here, which we’re supposed to be against.’”
Edwards also said that the corporate tax hikes used to fuel the $2 trillion-plus spending plan would be counterproductive to its goals, hurting the massive private companies like “AT&T and Verizon and other companies that do broadband and invest– you know infrastructure investment.”
“Biden would be taking with one hand in taxes what he’s giving on the other end, subsidies, which makes no sense,” Edwards said.
Biden and the White House, of course, would dispute Edwards’ points.
“It’s time to build our economy from the bottom-up and the middle-out, not the top-down,” Biden said in remarks unveiling the plan in Pittsburgh Wednesday. “And this time when we rebuild the middle class, we’re going to bring everybody along regardless of your background, your color, your religion, where everybody gets to come along.”
“The American jobs plan will modernize 20,000 miles of highways, roads and Main Streets that are difficult, difficult shape right now,” Biden added. “It will fix the nation’s 10 most economically significant bridges in America that require replacement.”
“Altogether, along with the American Rescue Plan, the proposal I put forward will create millions of jobs, estimated by some Wall Street outfits there will be 18 million jobs over four years, good-paying jobs,” Biden also said in Pittsburgh. “It also works to level the playing field to empower workers and ensure that the new jobs are good jobs, that you can raise a family on and ensure a free and fair choice to organize and bargain collectively.”
The White House and press secretary Jen Psaki have indicated that they are open to negotiating with Republicans over Biden’s spending plan. But it remains unclear how much Democrats would actually be willing to compromise on in order to secure Republican votes.
“I’m not going to give you red lines from here,” Psaki told reporters on Thursday.
If Republicans and Democrats cannot come to the kind of agreement that can get the support of 10 Republicans and reach the 60-vote filibuster threshold in the Senate, Democrats will likely be forced to move the package ahead via budget reconciliation. That process allows them to circumvent the filibuster and therefore avoid negotiating with Republicans,
“I support improving America’s aging roads, bridges, ports and other infrastructure. And we can do so in a bipartisan way,” Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, said Wednesday. But, he said, Biden’s plan includes “these broad policy priorities that are a far cry away from what we’ve ever defined as infrastructure.”
Psaki on Thursday, meanwhile, said she believes there is a lot to agree on in the White House’s initial proposal when asked about comments from McConnell opposing it.
“Does he disagree that our nation’s infrastructure is outdated and needs repair? Does he disagree that we need to do more to put American workers back to work and to invest in industries that have growth potential over the long term? Does he disagree that one-third of the country who doesn’t have broadband access should have access to broadband?” Psaki said. “There are a lot of areas where there is agreement with across the political spectrum.”

Every four years, The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has been putting out their Report Card for America’s Infrastructure which “depicts the condition and performance of American infrastructure in the familiar form of a school report card—assigning letter grades based on the physical condition and needed investments for improvement.”

Why is the Biden Administration Pushing Ukraine to Attack Russia?

On March 24th, Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky signed what was essentially a declaration of war on Russia. In the document, titled Presidential Decree No. 117/2021, the US-backed Ukrainian leader declared that it is the official policy of Ukraine to take back Crimea from Russia.
The declaration that Ukraine would take back Crimea from Russia also followed, and was perhaps instigated by, President Biden’s inflammatory and foolish statement that “Crimea is Ukraine.”
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was a chief architect of the US-backed coup against Ukraine in 2014, continued egging on the Ukrainians, promising full US support for the “territorial integrity” of Ukraine. Many Americans wonder why they are not even half as concerned about the territorial integrity of the United States!
Not to be outdone, at the beginning of this month US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin – who previously served on the board of missile-maker Raytheon – called his counterpart in Ukraine and promised “unwavering US support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.” As the US considers Crimea to be Ukrainian territory, this is clearly a clear green light for Kiev to take military action.
Washington is also sending in weapons. Some 300 tons of new weapons have arrived in the past weeks and more is on the way.
As could be expected, Moscow has responded to Zelensky’s decree and to the increasingly bellicose rhetoric in Kiev and Washington by re-positioning troops and other military assets closer to its border with Ukraine. Does anyone doubt that if the US were in the same situation – for example, if China installed a hostile and aggressive government in Mexico – the Pentagon might move troops in a similar manner?
But according to the media branch of the US military-industrial-Congressional-media complex, Russian troop movements are not a response to clear threats from a neighbor, but instead are just more “Russian aggression.”
The unhinged US “experts” behind the 2014 coup against the elected Ukrainian president are back in power and they are determined to finish the job – even if it means World War III! The explicit US backing of Ukraine’s military ambitions in the region are a blank check to Kiev.
But it is a check that Kiev would be wise to avoid cashing. Back in 1956 the US government pumped endless propaganda into Hungary promising military backing for an uprising against its Soviet occupiers. When the Hungarians, believing Washington’s lies, did rise up they found themselves all alone and facing Soviet retaliation.
Despite the cruel US propaganda, at least Eisenhower was wise enough to realize that no one would benefit from a nuclear war over Budapest.
Why is it any of our business whether Crimea is part of Ukraine or part of Russia? Why is it any of our business if the Russian-speaking population of eastern Ukraine prefer being aligned with Russia?
Why, for that matter, are unproven allegations of Russian meddling in our elections a violation of the “rules-based international order” but an actual US-backed coup against an elected Ukrainian government is not?
We are seeing foreign policy made by Raytheon and the other US military contractors, through cut-outs in government like Austin and others. Feckless US foreign policy “experts” believe their own propaganda about Russia and are on the verge of taking us to war over it.
It seems as if Americans are sleepwalking through this dangerous minefield. Let us hope they soon wake up before we’re all blown up.

Last Monday, in a single six-hour period, NATO launched 10 air intercepts to shadow six separate groups of Russian bombers and fighters over the Arctic, North Atlantic, North Sea, Black Sea and Baltic Sea.
Last week also brought reports that Moscow is increasing its troop presence in Crimea and along its borders with Ukraine.
Joe Biden responded. In his first conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Biden assured him of our “unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression in the Donbass and Crimea.”
Though Ukraine is not a member of NATO, and we have no treaty obligation to fight in its defense, this comes close to a war guarantee. Biden seems to be saying that if it comes to a shooting war between Moscow and Kiev, we will be there on the side of Kiev.
Last week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov answered that if the U.S. sends troops to Ukraine, Russia will respond.
Again, is Biden saying that in the event of a military clash between Ukrainians and Russians in Crimea, Donetsk or Luhansk, the U.S. will intervene militarily on the side of Ukraine?
Such a pledge could put us at war with a nuclear-armed Russia in a region where we have never had vital interests, and without the approval of the only institution authorized to declare war — Congress.
Meanwhile, off Whitsun Reef in the South China Sea, which Beijing occupies but Manila claims, China has amassed 220 maritime militia ships.
This huge Chinese flotilla arrived after Secretary of State Anthony Blinken put Beijing on notice that any attack on Philippine planes or ships challenging Beijing’s claim to rocks and reefs of the South China Sea that are in Manila’s exclusive economic zone will be backed by the U.S.
Our 70-year-old mutual security treaty with Manila covers these islets and reefs, said Blinken, though some are already occupied and fortified by China.
Apparently, if Manila uses force to assert its claims and expel the Chinese, then we will fight beside our Philippine allies. This amounts to a war guarantee of the kind that forced the British to declare war on Germany in 1939 over the invasion of Poland.
Two weeks ago, 20 Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone in the largest incursion yet by Beijing over the waters between Taiwan and Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands. As national security correspondent Bill Gertz writes in today’s Washington Times:
“China is stepping up provocative activities targeting regional American allies in Asia … with an escalating number of military flights around Taiwan and the massing of more than 200 fishing ships near a disputed Philippines reef.
“China also raised tensions with Japan, announcing last week that Tokyo must drop all claims to the disputed Senkaku Islands, an uninhabited island chain that Japan has administered for decades but that Beijing recently claimed as its territory.
“The most serious provocation took place March 29. An exercise by the People’s Liberation Army air force that included 10 warplanes flew into Taiwan’s air defense zone is what analysts say appeared to be a simulated attack on the island. It came just three days after an earlier mass warplane incursion.”
While China appears clear about its aims and claims to virtually all of the islands in the South China Sea and East China Sea as well as Taiwan — it is less clear about its intentions as to when to validate those claims.
As for the U.S., does the present foggy ambiguity as to what we may or may not do as China goes about asserting its claims serve our vital interests in avoiding war with the greatest power on the largest continent on earth?

What is our obligation if China moves to take the Senkakus? Would the United States join Japan in military action to hold or retrieve them?
What, exactly, is our commitment to Taiwan if China attempts to blockade, invade or seize Taiwan’s offshore islands?
John F. Kennedy in the second debate with Richard Nixon in 1960 wrote off Quemoy and Matsu in the Taiwan Strait as indefensible and not worth war with Mao’s China.
With its warnings and threats, China is forcing America to address questions we have been avoiding for about as long as we can.
China is saying that it is not bluffing: These islands are ours!

Russia Warns of Anti-White ‘Aggression’ in U.S.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday warned that anti-white racism might be building in the United States and said that political correctness “taken to the extreme” would have lamentable consequences.
In an interview with political scientists broadcast on national television, Moscow’s top diplomat said Russia had long supported a worldwide trend that “everyone wants to get rid of racism.”
“We were pioneers of the movement promoting equal rights of people of any skin color,” he said.
But Lavrov stressed it was important “not to switch to the other extreme which we saw during the ‘BLM’ (Black Lives Matter) events and the aggression against white people, white U.S. citizens.”
Founded in the United States in 2013, Black Lives Matter is a movement which became a rallying cry after the killing by U.S. police of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, last May.
The movement has led to a major debate about race, rights of people of color and the toppling of statues of figures linked to slavery or colonization in countries including the United States and the United Kingdom.
Lavrov accused the United States of seeking to spread what he called “a cultural revolution” around the world.
“They have colossal possibilities for it,” he said in the interview.
“Hollywood is now also changing its rules so that everything reflects the diversity of modern society,” he said, calling that “a form of censorship.”
“I’ve seen Black people play in Shakespeare’s comedies. Only I don’t know when there will be a white Othello,” Lavrov said.
“You see this is absurd. Political correctness taken to the point of absurdity will not end well.”
